BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Worksource Northwest will be able to stay open as normal for at least a week despite the government shutdown.

Regional manager Gary Smith says they can keep most of their career centers and other services open, but not for much longer.

He says only some of Worksource’s federal funding hinges on congress passing a budget.

The rest of the money is available to keep most services running through next June.

Smith hopes Congress can reach a deal soon or Worksource will have to start reducing services on October 8.
