A wrong-way driver on I-5 caused a head-on collision that left two people injured in Mount Vernon this morning.
The State Patrol reports 78-year-old Arlys Abrahamse of Oak Harbor was driving northbound in the southbound lanes of the interstate at about 5:30 a.m. when she collided head-on with a car driven by a 29-year-old Mount Vernon man just south of Anderson Road.
Both drivers were injured and taken to Skagit Valley Hospital.
Troopers say the wrong-way driver was impaired and faces a charge of vehicular assault.
