BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Kayla Erickson had match highs of 13 kills and six blocks and Kelsey Moore added 11 kills as nationally ranked Western Washington University returned to its winning ways by sweeping Montana State University Billings, 25-10, 25-19, 25-18, in a Great Northwest Athletic Conference volleyball match on Saturday, Oct. 26, at Sam Carver Gymnasium on the WWU campus.
The Vikings, ranked No.8 in the latest American Volleyball Coaches Association/NCAA Division II Top 25 Poll, snapped a two-match losing streak while improving to 15-3 overall and 8-2 in GNAC play.
The Vikings built an 18-6 lead in game one with an 8-1 run that featured four kills by Erickson. They also had a 20-13 advantage in game two and never trailed in game three, going out to a 15-5 lead.
The Vikings travel to Central Washington on Thursday, Oct.31 (7 p.m.), for a GNAC contest.
