BELLINGHAM, Wash. – The lone suspect in a recent Bellingham murder wrote confessions to the crime and apologies to friends and family before taking his own life.

A police spokesman told the Bellingham Herald that Coast Guard gunner’s mate Michael Arnold spray painted apologies on a family cabin in Arizona before hanging himself.

He also left a written confession to killing 59-year-old Abigail Gulotta.

The pair met in a Fairhaven bar on August 2.

Gulotta was found murdered in her Bellingham apartment the next day.
