BELLINGHAM, Wash. Two teenage girls who police said were trying to run away to California are safely back in Whatcom County.

Friends and family reached out on social media after 16-year-old Hunter Pike and 15-year-old Lorien King went missing on May 23 because they were worried that the two might be in danger.

Bellingham Police Lieutenant Bob Vanderyacht says Lorien is now back with her family, and Hunter is also back in Whatcom County.
