Bellingham’s Olympian hopeful aims for Gold

BELLINGHAM, Wash. – It’s finally time for Bellingham’s Winter Olympian to compete.

Angeli VanLaanen is going for gold in the women’s free-ski half-pipe.

Qualifying runs are scheduled for 6:30 this morning.

The event finals are scheduled for 9:30.

The only way to watch it live is to go to NBC’s Olympics webpage and sign in with your cable provider.

CBC will have coverage at noon or you can wait for NBC’s primetime coverage from 8:00 to 11:30 tonight.

VanLaanen grew up in Bellingham and learned to ski on Mount Baker.

She battled Lyme disease for many years and was forced to stop skiing altogether for three years.
