Blaine name change will be on ballot

Blaine name change will be on ballot

KGMI News Reporting
By Mike Curtiss

BLAINE, Wash. – Voters in Blaine will decide if the city should change its name to “Blaine Harbor.”

The city council voted 4-to-3 last night to put the name-change proposal on the November ballot.

Some residents hope that adding “harbor” to the city’s name will bring in more tourists and investors.

Others want to keep the name that they grew up with.

The city council put off the decision at their last meeting because not all of the council members were present.
