Boy dies in Chuckanut Crash

BELLINGHAM, Wash. – A six-year-old boy is dead and a woman is critically injured after a crash on Chuckanut Drive.

The State Patrol says it happened a little before 5:00 pm Monday just south the Whatcom-Skagit line at the Oyster Creek Inn.

A Ford Escape flew over a 40 foot embankment and landed on its top in a creek.

The woman was airlifted to Harborview Hospital in Seattle.

The boy died at the scene.
