Canucks sign first-round pick Jake Virtanen

VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) — The Vancouver Canucks signed first-round pick Jake Virtanen on Friday.

The 6-foot, 208-pound right winger from Abbotsford was selected sixth overall. He had 45 goals and 71 points in 71 games last season for the Calgary Hitmen in the Western Hockey League.
