FERNDALE, Wash. – A man hiding his face with a bandanna pretended to have a gun in his pocket at the Ferndale Mini Mart, but the clerk didn’t buy it.

The Bellingham Herald reports the man walked into the store just after midnight Sunday and demanded money.

The clerk responded by telling the man he needed to leave the store.

The man left, but not without snagging a bic lighter on his way out.
