BELLINGHAM, Wash. – A burn ban for all of Whatcom County starts today.

Recreational fires are allowed, but they must be less than three feet in diameter.

The Lummi Island Fire Department enacted tighter restrictions.

Recreational fires must be less than 2 feet in diameter and beach fires need to be below the most recent high tide.
