BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Fred Meyer plans to add more pumps its busy gas station on Lakeway Drive in Bellingham.

According to the Bellingham Herald, the company wants to tear down the building currently home to Discount Tire and put in six new fueling islands, for a total of ten.

Discount Tire would move into the former home of Hollywood Video on the north side of Fred Meyer.

The company applied for a permit earlier this week to make several traffic changes for the new pumps.

It says the changes would improve traffic flow at the popular shopping center, and lead to shorter lines at the gas station.
