Kitsap snaps Bells 14-game win streak

Bellingham loses its first game since June 21, by a final score of 12-3 against Kitsap. The loss snapped a 14-game winning streak, including 12 straight West Coast League games. The 12 consecutive WCL games won stands as the third-longest win streak in league history.The Bells travel to Kelowna for a three-game series against the Falcons before returning to Joe Martin Field next Monday. First pitch against Kelowna is set for 6:35 p.m. Thursday.(KPUG Newsroom)

Soccer’s governing body raided; FIFA leaders face racketeering charges

U.S. Attorney General Loretta Lynch announces an indictment against nine FIFA officials and five corporate executives for racketeering, conspiracy and corruption at a news conference, Wednesday, May 27, 2015, in the Brooklyn borough of New York. Nine of the 14 that were indicted by the Justice Department are soccer officials, while four are sports marketing executives and another works in broadcasting.

Scandals and rumors of corruption have dogged FIFA throughout the 17-year reign of its President Sepp Blatter, although he was not named in either investigation.
