Local chef vying for prestigious award

BELLINGHAM, Wash. – A local man once again is vying for one of the top awards a chef can earn – the James Beard Foundation Rising Star Award.

This is the fourth year in a row that Blaine Wetzel has been a semi-finalist.

He’s the chef at willows inn on Lummi Island.

Wetzel will find out if he’s a finalist next month.
