Mount Vernon family displaced by fire

MOUNT VERNON, Wash. – The local Red Cross is helping a family in Mount Vernon that lost their home in a fire early Sunday morning.

The fire caused some minor damage to the home on north 1st Street, temporarily displacing the family of four.

Volunteers with the Mount Baker Chapter of the Red Cross provided the family with three nights in a hotel.

They will continue to help the family as they get back on their feet.
