BELLINGHAM, Wash. – A computer program that gives police access to digital information about addresses isn’t something the Bellingham City Council wants to spend money on.
The council asked the police department on Monday to spend a $26,000 federal grant on something else.
Some people have been concerned about the type of information that could be gathered and possibly made public.
Council member Michael Lilliquist:

The council voted 5-to-1 to request that the money be used to pursue other departmental needs.
