BELLINGHAM, Wash. – A wounded veteran on his way home from racing in Ski to Sea was kicked out of an exit row seat on an Alaska Airlines flight because of his prosthetic leg.

Adam Popp lost the leg while fighting in Afghanistan in 2007.

He tells WJLA-TV in Washington D.C. that the attendant told him his leg prevented him from sitting in the exit row.

FAA rules do not specify whether a prosthetic leg keeps you from sitting in an exit row seat, only that you must have the physical ability to perform the exit seat duties.

Alaska Airlines has since apologized and thanked Popp for his sacrifice and service.
