Teen hit by train in Marietta area

BELLINGHAM, Wash. – A 17 year old boy was badly injured after he was hit by a freight train in the Marietta area early yesterday.

A spokesman for BNSF Railway told the Bellingham Herald the boy was sitting on the tracks at about 2 a.m. as the train approached.

Engineers sounded the horn repeatedly, but the boy didn’t move and was struck, suffering cuts and internal injuries.

His identity and condition have not been released.
