BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Three Bellingham pot retailers hope to be among the first recreational marijuana stores to open in the state.

Mikhail Carpenter with the state Liquor Control Board says they can’t say the names of the three Bellingham stores until they pass their final inspections.

If they pass, they can get their license on July 7 and open as soon as the next day.

Up to 20 stores across the state could open on July 8.
