WWU: Vikes earn both GNAC Golfer of the Week awards

Western Washington University’s Kyle Schrader and Kristen Hansen have been named Great Northwest Athletic Conference Men’s and Women’s Golfers of the Week.  Schrader finished eighth at the Cal State Stanislaus Invitational.  Hansen tied for eighth at the Tarleton State Invitational.

Western’s Lindsay Wells beat her school record in the hammer throw by more than eight feet at the Cal State L.A. Twilight Open Thursday night, unleashing a throw of 179-5 to win the event.  Viking Tanya Bjornsson won the women’s long jump at 18-11 3/4.
