Country singer Martina McBride is set to show off her culinary skills in her first cookbook.

The “Independence Day” hitmaker can add author to her resumé with a new book called “Around the Table.”

The illustrated book features her own recipes, menu planning and cooking tips, as well as helpful hints on party planning and entertaining.

McBride tells TheBoot.com, “I have a passion for food and entertaining and I’m so excited to be putting everything I love onto the pages of my new book.”

Once her book hits shelves on Oct. 7, McBride hopes to follow in the footsteps of fellow country music superstar Trisha Yearwood, who has spent the past few years focusing on her own culinary career, and even hosts her own Emmy Award-winning cookery show.

McBride admits, “I’ve always wanted to be on a cooking show. Pretty bowls, beautiful ingredients, a pinch of this, a squeeze of that, some fresh ground pepper and toss it in the oven. All the while talking and being interesting while cooking.”
