National Zoo wants your help to name Panda cub

WASHINGTON (AP) — The National Zoo wants help in naming its new panda cub.

Internet voting began yesterday, on Election Day. It runs through Nov. 22.

Five Mandarin Chinese names are in the running for the girl panda, including Bao Bao, which means precious or treasure and Ling Hua, meaning darling or delicate flower.

The winning name will be revealed Dec. 1 at a naming ceremony, in keeping with Chinese tradition.

That’s when the little panda will be 100 days old.
