Cee Lo Green turned to the thug life as a young man because he felt awkward and out of place.

The “Forget You” singer has opened up about his mean streak in a new biography co-authored by music writer David Wild, and he admits he turned to crime to empower himself.

He says, “My body was too short, my head was too big, I was strange and I dressed different.

“At an age when other kids might be out selling lemonade, I stole my a** off.”

Green, real name Thomas DeCarlo Callaway, says he mugged people at gunpoint and “wanted to be a killer”.

He adds, “People who are brilliant-minded need a creative outlet. To feel endowed enough to take something from somebody is very empowering.”

Green’s new memoir, titled “Everybody’s Brother,” is out now.
