Khloe Kardashian’s basketball player husband Lamar Odom has been charged with drunken driving.

The L.A. Clippers player was pulled over by police on Aug. 30, after he was allegedly caught driving too slowly on a Los Angeles highway.

Odom was unable to complete a field sobriety test, and then refused chemical tests to determine his level of alleged intoxication in custody. His driver’s licence was subsequently suspended as under California law, which says that DUI suspects who refuse such tests are forced to give up their driving privileges for a year.

Now Odom has been officially charged with driving under the influence.

He is scheduled to be arraigned on Sept. 27, according to TMZ.com.

The criminal charge is the latest drama in Odom’s life – his four-year marriage to reality TV star Kardashian has reportedly been rocked by rumours of his substance abuse, which he allegedly attempted to tackle by checking into a rehab facility shortly after his arrest. However, he left the medical centre after just one day.

He is also facing a lawsuit from a paparazzo amid claims of assault, conversion and trespass of property relating to a confrontation this summer.
