Jury: Bellingham Man Guilty Of Child Molestation, Rape

BELLINGHAM, Wash. -- A Whatcom County Superior Court jury says a 37-year-old Bellingham man is guilty of first-degree child molestation and first-degree child rape, for sexually abusing a girl younger than 10 over a period of two years.

The jury returned the verdict against Mark Stiller on Monday, after a week-long trial in Whatcom County Superior Court.

After the verdict, Stiller was booked into Whatcom County Jail, where he will remain until sentencing.

According to court documents, the girl told police that Stiller had sexually abused her many times over two years, threatening to hurt her if she told anyone.

Stiller denied ever intentionally touching the girl in a sexual way.
