City Of Blaine Honored For Battling Domestic Violence

BLAINE, Wash. (Metro Networks Inc.)  -- The City of Blaine is honored as one of the first Whatcom County cities to battle domestic violence by addressing the problem in its employee policies.

The northernlight.com reports the Bellingham/Whatcom County Commission Against Domestic Violence awarded certificates to Blaine, Bellingham, the Whatcom County government and a handful of private companies across the county, commending them for launching policies designed to help employees report and cope with domestic violence.

Blaine's policy lists resources for a city employee who has been a victim of domestic violence and encourages workers to report suspected acts of domestic violence committed against their coworkers.
