Whatcom County Committee Holds Meeting On Wind Energy

LYNDEN, Wash. -- The Agricultural Advisory Committee of Whatcom County is holding a public meeting this afternoon to ask farmers if wind energy systems should be allowed on farm lands.

The committee advises the Whatcom County Council on issues that affect local farming.

The county council recently approved a revised ordinance on wind-energy systems in agricultural zones, and they’re asking farmers to come to today’s meeting for a presentation and to share their opinions.

The meeting is scheduled from 3-to-5 this afternoon at the Lynden Public Library on 4th Street in Lynden.
