Police Arrest Man Who Groomed Girl For Sex Slavery

BELLINGHAM, Wash. -- Police say a man was grooming a 17-year-old girl in Bellingham for sex slavery.

Officer Mark Young with Bellingham Police says detectives were investigating a case of possible prostitution last Friday at a hotel on Guide Meridian when they arrested the girl.

He says they also arrested a man in the lobby who was working with the girl.

22-year-old Reggie R. Crume from Tacoma was booked into Whatcom County Jail on suspicion of promoting prostitution.

Young says the arrest provides an opportunity for the girl to break the cycle of sex slavery.

She was released to child protective services.
