Camper Wakes In Floating Tent Near Snoqualmie River



SNOQUALMIE, Wash. (Metro Networks Inc.)  -- A stranded camper is safe after a harrowing rescue from the flood waters of the Snoqualmie River this morning.

The man tells komonews.com he was camping in the woods along the river near Southeast Park Street and Euclid Avenue Southeast, when he woke up just before 4 a.m. quote, "floating in my tent - pretty scary." 

He called 911 and rescuers waded through waist deep water and mud to reach him. 

They finally pulled him to safety about three hours later. 

He was taken to local hospital for treatment of mild hypothermia. 

Five roads in the area of the rescue in Snoqualmie had already been covered in water. 

The Snoqualmie River is expected to crest about four feet over flood stage near Carnation late tonight.
