BELLINGHAM, Wash. -- The Whatcom County Medical Examiner today is expected to investigate the cause of death for a body found Friday evening along the Nooksack River.

A family discovered the body while walking on the beach at the river near the Nugent’s Corner Bridge.

Sheriff's Sergeant Sean Crisp says the family called 911, and deputies responded around 7:15 p.m. Friday...



Sergeant Crisp says the body was that of an adult male believed to be in his 60s, with no obvious signs of trauma.

He says the man’s identity has not yet been confirmed.
