The rocker popped up in a number of sketches, playing characters like a nervous accountant forced to sit through others' Jagger impersonations at a karaoke bar, a financial expert, a closeted gay 1960s movie star and even Aerosmith singer Steven Tyler.
The Rolling Stones star also performed his classic tunes "19th Nervous Breakdown," "It's Only Rock 'n' Roll" and "The Last Time" with Foo Fighters and Arcade Fire and he also teamed up with guitar great Jeff Beck for a new blues tune about the upcoming presidential elections, in which he sang, "If you wanna sleep in the West Wing, you've got to strategize a bit."
But the highlight of the show came when host Jagger wrapped up the finale of the series by beginning a touching tribute to comedienne Kristin Wiig, who is leaving SNL after a seven-year run.
The Bridesmaids co-writer and star fought back tears as she danced with Jagger, SNL creator Lorne Michaels and her comedy co-stars as members of Arcade Fire and the house band performed the Rolling Stones' Ruby Tuesday.
Jagger wasn't the only big name to appear on the series finale - Wiig's Bridesmaids boyfriend Jon Hamm and Steve Martin also popped up for cameos.
