Paul Simon: No more Simon & Garfunkel

Paul Simon has wrecked fans' hopes of another Simon & Garfunkel get together by telling a BBC radio show he has no intention of revisiting the past.

Simon and Art Garfunkel have reunited for occasional tours since they split in 1970 - but they have never recorded new material together - and the singer-songwriter insists it's likely to stay that way.

Asked about another reunion tour with his longtime partner and possible new material while promoting the re-issue of his 1986 album Graceland during an appearance on BBC Radio 4's Today programme, Simon said, "I'd just as soon not go back and visit the past."

Simon & Garfunkel last teamed up for the 25th anniversary of the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame concerts in New York in 2009. A tour was planned for the following year, but was postponed indefinitely after Garfunkel was diagnosed with throat problems, which kept him silent for over a year.
