Western Washington Prepares For Pain At Pump

WASHINGTON STATE  (Metro)  -- Drivers in Western Washington should brace themselves for some serious pain at the pump.

Gasbuddy.com reports that prices could rise by up to 35 cents a gallon by Sunday.

Greg Laskoski with gasbuddy.com says tight supplies are the blame, and that's thanks to refinery problems, not just in Whatcom County, but along the entire west coast.

He says gas prices on the west coast should come back down as refineries, like BP Cherry Point, get back to full production.

The average price for a gallon of unleaded could hit $4.73 in Bellingham. The national average now stands at $3.68 per gallon.
