FERNDALE, Wash. -- Alcoa Intalco Works has extended their agreement with the Bonneville Power Administration through June 30.

A spokesman for the aluminum smelter west of Ferndale says the extension will give them more time to continue making changes to the power agreement.

The current contract ends tomorrow.

The two groups have been negotiating towards a new long term electricity contract.
