SEATTLE, Waah.  (Metro)  -- Seattle police officials will brief the Seattle City Council this morning on this year's explosion in gun violence in the city. 

This follows a Memorial Day weekend that featured four drive-by shootings in South Seattle and more elsewhere. 

KING Channel Five says Seattle has had 16 murders so far this year. 

That's more than five times last year's rate.
