SEATTLE, Wash. (Metro) -- Liquor prices are proving higher under Washington's new private liquor sales system.
Costco, which sponsored privatization Initiative 1183, tells "Seattlepi.com" that's because the initiative contained fees and taxes to prevent state government from losing money on the deal.
"Seattlepi.com" notes that Costco's liquor prices are mostly cheaper than elsewhere, but you have to buy a Costco membership to get them.
