SURREY, Bristish Columbia -- The 90th Annual Hands Across the Border Celebration will close down the Blaine border crossing this Sunday. The event at the Peace Arch State Park is from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the afternoon and the border crossing will be closed from noon to 3 p.m. The celebration is to commemorate the long standing peace between Canada and the United States. Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Girl Guides, Brownies and others will gather in the park for the international parade. A flag exchange will take place along with recognition of honored veterans. This year will feature exhibits on the history of the original border survey which is celebrating its 150th Anniversary. A discover or a day pass is required for vehicles to access the parking area and they can be purchased at the park office.
