Geoff Tate lands record deal after leaving Queensryche

Former Queensryche rocker Geoff Tate has landed a major new solo deal just days after his former bandmates announced he had been replaced.

The singer has signed a multi-album, worldwide solo recording deal with InsideOut Music.

Tate says, "I'm very excited to join forces with InsideOut Music. They are very committed to progressive music and care deeply for their artists, working together with them to bring music lovers worldwide some of the most compelling rock music available."

His first release for InsideOut Music is scheduled for the end of 2012 and he joins Steve Hackett and Dream Theater frontman James LaBrie on the label.

Tate has been replaced in Queensryche by Todd LaTorre.

Reports suggest he and his former bandmates have been at odds with each other for months and Tate recently showed up for a Queensryche gig in Utah with his solo band.

Billboard.com exclusively reported Tate's departure from Queensryche last week.
