MAPLE FALLS, Wash. -- A manufactured home goes up in flames leaving one person dead in the Paradise area.

Firefighters and Whatcom County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the blaze on Poppy Court in Maple Falls shortly after nine this morning.

Authorities say a body was found near the front door and transported to the Medical Examiner’s office.

The Whatcom County Humane Society took custody of domestic animals and livestock outside the residence.

The Medical Examiner is working on identifying the body as authorities investigate the cause and origin of the fire.
