ENTIAT, Wash. (Metro) -- Wildland firefighters are racing the clock to contain a wildfire in eastern Washington before temperatures hit triple digits this weekend.
The Navarre fire has blackened about 250 acres of dry grass and brush between Lake Chelan and the Entiat Valley since it started yesterday afternoon.
KIRO 7 News reports crews will cut lines around the fire and drop water on it before the weather starts getting hot.
Flames have forced one family from their home and about 20 more are prepared to evacuate if their homes are threatened.
About 80 firefighters and three helicopters are fighting the flames.
Temperatures are forecast to hit the upper 90s today and top 100 degrees tomorrow and Sunday.
