Motorcyclist Critical After Iowa St. Crash

BELLINGHAM, Wash. -- A motorcyclist is fighting for his life tonight after being thrown 60-feet in a Bellingham crash.

Police say the man was rushed to PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center after the Iowa Street collision left him with life threatening injuries.

The man’s name has not been released, but Officer Mark Young says his motorcycle struck a pickup truck turning into the King Nissan dealership just after 11 a.m.

Witnesses tell police the motorcycle was traveling at a high rate of speed – likely over 60 miles per hour.

The investigation closed Iowa Street for nearly three hours. Young says the truck’s driver won’t be charged.
