Bellingham Mayor Working To Allow Bigger Costco

BELLINGHAM, Wash. -- Bellingham mayor Kelli Linville says she's working to allow Costco to develop a new, bigger store in the city.

Mayor Linville says Costco wants to expand in Bellingham despite the city's current restrictions on big box retail stores...

The city currently caps the size of big box store at 90,000 sq. ft., but Linville says Costco would be exempt from that rule because they are a membership store.

She says the city is currently working with property owners to secure a new location.

The city of Ferndale had been attempting to make that city more attractive to the big box store.
