Fire Causes Smoke, Heat Damages to Bellingham Home

BELLINGHAM, Wash. -- A fire in a Bellingham home caused significant heat and smoke damages.

Just after 6:30 p.m. a passerby reported seeing smoke and flames at the house located in the 1700 block of Old Samish Road.

Bellingham Fire Department responded and quickly put out the fire.

The resident was not home at the time and a routine search found no victims.

Investigators are still determining the cause of the fire but they say it appears to have originated from near the bathroom.
