Voters, Retiring Official Work On Political Rhetoric Rampdown



BELLEVUE, Wash.  (Metro)  -- An effort to ramp down hot political rhetoric here in Washington starts in Bellevue this weekend. 

The League of Women Voters plans a series ofworkshops called "Civility In Our Democracy." 

Retiring Secretary of State Sam Reed, a Republican, says negativism is driving ordinary people away from politics.

Tomorrow will be a training day for group moderators at St. Andrews Church in Bellevue. 

Coming up are September workshops in Clark and King Counties and a Spokane County event in October.
