OLYMPIA, Wash. (Metro) -- Washington's political leaders are celebrating the good news from the Department of Revenue that taxable retail sales rose nicely in this year's first quarter.
It says revenues were up nearly five-percent over the same quarter last year.
And there's more.
Construction activity rose eight-percent from a year ago.
The food services, automotive and general merchandise sectors had smaller increases.
