Bellingham Preparing For Plastic Bag Ban

Even Canadian visitors are getting into the act as Bellingham prepares to start its new ban on single-use plastic bags August 1.

"The Bellingham Herald" says people are already picking out reusable bags to avoid a five cent per bag fee on paper bags.

Officials are urging people to pick reusable bags they can wash and to keep ready-to-eat foods like fresh vegetables away from meat packages to avoid cross-contamination.
