WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. -- The Whatcom County Council has postponed approving new rules of conduct for those serving on council-related boards, committees and task forces.



The new standards would have required all board members to be "fair, impartial and respectful," or be subject to removal.

The idea was prompted by a confrontation between a county planning commissioner and a staff member last November.
