EVERETT, Wash. (Metro) -- A 31-year-old woman is behind bars, accused of running down an Everett man and three children from behind, as they walked along Broadway Tuesday.
Heraldnet.com reports the driver suffered minor injuries and was later arrested for investigation of vehicular assault.
Everett police Officer Aaron Snell says officers believe the driver had been drinking and they are waiting for toxicology results.
Forty-year-old Chauncey Filbert and his 16-year-old son are still in the hospital, expected to recover from broken legs, while his eight-year-old niece and two-year-old nephew were treated for lesser injuries and released.
The niece, Dakota Lawyer, says her uncle shoved her into some bushes to protect her when the car swerved and jumped the curb.
