Woman Arrested After Chase With Whatcom County Sheriff

BELLINGHAM, Wash. -- A woman with warrants out for her arrest tried to hide in a port-o-potty after running from Whatcom County Sheriff’s Deputies Tuesday afternoon.

Deputies were trying to stop a vehicle that was leaving a suspected drug house on the 5400 block of Guide Meridian when the female driver jumped out of the vehicle and ran into a field.

Sheriff Bill Elfo says she was later found in a port-o-potty near a berry stand north of Smith Road.

Jeannie Ketchersid, born in 1980,  was arrested and booked into Whatcom County Jail on six outstanding warrants with the Sumas Municipal Court as well as driving with a suspended license.

A Customs and Border Protection helicopter that was in the area assisted deputies in their search.

Elfo says deputies checked out the house on Guide Meridian and arrested a man there who also had outstanding warrants.
