NOGALES, Ariz. -- One of two suspects still sought in a deadly shooting in Lynden last November has been arrested at the border with Mexico.
Agents at a border crossing in Nogales, Ariz. identified and arrested Oscar Rodriguez and contacted the Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office Sunday.
Rodriguez was wanted in the fatal shooting of 22-year-old Jesse Winchester, who was killed when he and his father, 41-year-old Jeremiah Winchester, attempted to rob Rodriguez, his brother and another man during a drug deal at a Lynden home.
Rodriguez was 15 at the time of the shooting.
His brother, Salvador, remains at large and is believed to be in Mexico.
Another suspect in the shooting is awaiting trial.
